Robert A. Harris kicked off his campaign for Tennessee State Representative on March 20, 2018. The event was held at the Firefly Room Event Space on the square in Ripley. Harris used the event to speak of his inspiration for running for the position- his late father, Randall Harris. The late Randall Harris, who passed away in 2011, tirelessly served his community as a Halls Alderman and Halls City Mayor, later becoming postmaster after many years of service to the United States Postal Service.
Harris also spoke on his main concerns for the 82nd district- strengthening our skilled workforce, improving public education and infrastructure and reminding Nashville that District 82 is an important part of our state’s vitality.
Harris prepared BBQ plates for all of his honored guests. He used his cooking talents to smoke the BBQ butts himself. Robert looks forward to getting more opportunities to meet the people of Lauderdale, Haywood and Crockett County personally in the upcoming months.
